While they speak of the "forest" in the album's press writeup, the sound says that this more in the wheelhouse of "Phospherescent"-era TIP recordings. I think of it as a compliment. Melodic and at the start of going weird, but not fully giving over to studio tomfoolery. I'm also a fan of this being more or less several EPs, even if some of the tracks are collaborations. Plus - the cover art is pretty bonkers, isn't it?
